Varsity Starter Since Freshman Year: Johanna helped make history her Junior year by leading her team to their first-ever Regional Championship victory! In the final, she delivered a standout performance, scoring two crucial goals and earning the Player of the Match title. Throughout the championship run, Jojo was a driving force, contributing 7 of the team’s 10 goals, converting a clutch penalty kick, providing 2 key assists, and earning multiple Player of the Game honors. Her exceptional play even earned her a standing ovation from teammates and school fans, cementing her legacy in the program’s history! With a team-leading 16 goals and 9 assists, JoJo was named First Team All Miami-Dade County by the Miami Herald.

Top Goal Scorer: Averaging 1 goal per game in her sophomore year. Doubled her goals scored from 8 goals freshman year to 16 goals sophomore year. Awarded “player of the game” numerous times with multiple hat tricks and game tying or winning goals.

Honors: 2024 US Virgin Islands Women’s National Team Selection; 2024 All-County Forward, 2nd Team; 2023 All-County Forward, 3rd Team; 2023 Florida All-State Team voted by FL Athletic Coaches Association.

Skills and Playing Style: JoJo is a finisher! A skilled first touch and high level ball distribution, coupled with the unique trifecta of speed, ball pressure, and finishing in the box. 

Speed & Agility: A promising track athlete, JoJo’s speed is unmatched, allowing her to outrun defenders and create breakaway opportunities for through balls. She’s consistently one of the quickest players on her varsity, club and national teams, with a personal record of 13.6 seconds in the 100-meter dash and anchoring one of the top 4x100 girls’ relay times in Ransom’s school history. 

Technical Precision: Whether it's a sharp first touch, 1v1 skill moves, a precisely timed volley off a cross, or finishing in the box under pressure, JoJo consistently demonstrates polished technique in high-stakes situations.

Strategic Intelligence: Known for her field vision, ball distribution and soccer IQ, JoJo reads the game two steps ahead, setting up plays with clever passing and positioning to maximize scoring opportunities.

Aggressive and Resilient Play: JoJo never shies away from a challenge, recovering the ball in high-pressure moments and demonstrating composure against physical defenses. With her speed, stamina and anticipation, she consistently uses her ball pressure to disrupt the opposing teams’ backline/keeper thereby creating turnovers and counterattacks. 

The day JoJo nutmegged Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and scored twice on him.
